Oil Palm Empty Bunches are solid waste produced by palm oil mills. Every 1 (one) tonne of fresh fruit bunches is generated 22-23% of waste. In addition to the large number and high calorific value, the utilization is still not optimal, making oil palm empty bunches an alternative energy for making biobriquettes. Biobriquette is a solid fuel composed of fine charcoal particles that have undergone a compression process with a certain compressive force. This study aims to determine the effect of making biobriquette from the pyrolysis process of oil palm empty bunches with arpus adhesive, to determine the characterization of oil palm empty bunches biobriquette with arpus adhesive. The briquettes were then analyzed for moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, calorific value, and burning time on the wet and dry basis. The results obtained for the wet basis at a moisture content of 3.59%, 13.26% ash content, 45.22% volatile matter, 37.93% fixed carbon, a calorific value of 6,533% while for dry basis the ash content was 13.75%, 46.90% volatile matter, 39.35% fixed carbon , the heating value is 6.776%, and the burn time is 35 minutes. Results adjusted to ASTM standards.
