Abstract

The rapid development of the palm oil industry causes more factory waste to be produced, one of which is solid waste. This waste comes from the mesocarp of oil palm fruit and has undergone processing at the palm oil mill. Solid waste could be used together with paku harupat (Nephrolepis biserrata) which is also the dominant weed in oil palm. The use of these two waste materials as liquid organic fertilizer is expected to make oil palm plantations more environmentally friendly. This study aims to obtain alternative materials, know how to make, and determine the nutrient content of solid waste liquid organic fertilizer and fern weeds. This research conducted at PT Best Agro International, Kalimantan tengah, from Mei until September 2022. This research use descriptive method and consist of 5 treatments. There are P0 (1 kg solid+0 kg Nephrolepis biserrata, P1 (1 kg solid +0,25 kg Nephrolepis biserrata, P2 (1 kg solid+0,50 kg Nephrolepis biserrata), P3 (1 kg solid+0,75 kg Nephrolepis biserrata) P4 : 1 kg solid+1 kg Nephrolepis biserrata. Each of treatments repeated 1 times, so that there were 5 experiment sampel. The result showed that solid waste and Nephrolepis biserrata could be as alternative material for liquid organic fertilizer. The method for making organic fertilizer is by mixing solid, Nephrolepis biserrata, microorganisms, and fermented anaerobically. The best nutrient content was found in treatment 1kg solid+1kg Nephrolepis biserrata with 0,17% N, 0,05% K, and 0,21% P.
