Evaluasi Implementasi Housekeeping Management di Bagian Painting Perusahaan Otomotif

Abstract

Generally, Japanese companies have implemented gemba kaizen and housekeeping management-5S programs as a basis for supporting their operations. PT SIM is a Japanese automotive company operating in Indonesia. In its operations, the company has implemented housekeeping management-5S in the workplace. However, its implementation has not been optimal and this is the background for this research. The research method is to assess the implementation of 5S in the workplace (gemba) which consists of six categories, namely materials, work in process, finished goods, floor-dolly-box, machine-equipment-tools and document-visual control. The aim of this research is to determine the extent to which 5S has been implemented in the workplace and gemba kaizen. The results of this research show that the implementation of 5S in the workplace is a good predicate. But this result is still below the company's target, namely targeting very good. The weakness that still exists is the lack of consistency and discipline in complying with regulations and updating data.
