Conventional insecticide control of grasshoppers in oil palm nursery areas has negative impacts because it leaves residues that are difficult for plants and the environment to decompose. It also creates resistance, leading to the emergence of new pest species. Bioinsecticides from mahogany seeds are an alternative botanical pesticide because the allelochemical compounds they contain are toxic to pests. This research used a descriptive method and was arranged in a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD). The treatments used in the experiment consisted of M1 (control insecticide Sidalmethrin 1%), M2 (mahogany seed extract 100 g/l), M3 (mahogany seed extract 200 g/l), and M4 (mahogany seed extract 300 g/l). Each treatment was replicated three times, resulting in 12 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of one sample and 12 grasshoppers. The results indicate that mahogany seeds can be used as an alternative organic bioinsecticide for grasshopper control. Mahogany seed bioinsecticide was effective in controlling grasshopper pests, as evidenced by changes in behavior, mortality time, and physical condition. The optimal dose of mahogany seed bioinsecticide for controlling grasshopper pests was 300 g/L, as evidenced by all parameters.
