Abstract

Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) cultivation has benefits for humans as immunoregulatory, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. This species contains secondary metabolites including phenols, caffeic acid derivatives, alkamides, flavonoids, and polysaccharides and glycoproteins. Parts that can be used as raw materials are leaves, stems, roots, and flowers. Seeing the various benefits and opportunities of this ecinase, it can potentially be developed in Indonesia. The cultivation of ecinase in Indonesia itself can be developed, but it has not been widely practiced to maximize its production. Efforts that can be made by giving biochar and growth regulators, this can potentially support the productivity of ecinase plants. The correlation value for the productivity variable has a range of values from weak (0.240) to moderate (0.308), while the correlation of secondary metabolite content produces a strong value (0.598-0.740). The value of the correlation coefficient between extract yield and flavonoid content shows very real with a strong correlation level of 0.756.
