Abstract

The most important part of the palm oil industry chain that plays a role in optimizing palm oil production is the transportation of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB). Transportation is a means and infrastructure of carrying FFB from the block to the palm oil mill (PKS) which must be received by the PKS after the FFB is harvested to avoid restan. Resting FFB sent to the PKS will cause high Free Fatty Acid (ALB), so that the quality of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) will be reduced. Running a transportation system must be done systematically so that transportation activities run smoothly and well, and all production results are recorded. The purpose of this research is to study the activities of the FFB transportation system to the PKS based on what happens in the field. The palm oil FFB transportation system at PT Salim Ivomas uses a manual transportation system that is well implemented, indicated by the systematic existence of the transportation process, the sufficiency of the required transport vehicles, and supervision in accordance with the standards. The transport vehicles used are quite old so that a regular maintenance process is needed so that the FFB transportation process can continue to take place properly.
